THE GREAT BODY SHOP: COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH EDUCATION AT ITS BEST!

Need resources to meet the elementary health education requirement? THE GREAT BODY SHOP is a comprehensive Health Education curriculum that provides engaging opportunities for students to develop critical thinking skills that will prepare them to be active, healthy and productive citizens. This training will focus on planned, sequential curriculum for grades K-6.

The Basic Teacher Orientation is an interactive, practical and motivational experience designed to train teachers how to implement THE GREAT BODY SHOP. After an overview of the curriculum, participants will experience demonstration lessons, active participation through curricular activities and explore effective ways to implement the curriculum. This full-day training experience enables teachers to “jump start” the curriculum for an effective implementation.

Objectives—Participants will:

  • identify the scope and sequence of THE GREAT BODY SHOP
  • locate essential components of THE GREAT BODY SHOP Teacher's Guide
  • explain the program mechanics of the curriculum
  • participate in lessons and activities from THE GREAT BODY SHOP
  • analyze activities used to meet the curriculum's performance objectives
  • identify cross curricular reinforcement activities
  • explain process and procedures related to digital instructional materials
  • progress monitoring tools and assessments

Cost: $50.00/team (Refreshments and Lunch are provided)
School/District teams of 2-5 people are required.

REGISTER EARLY—The first five teams to register online for each training location will receive a FREE $500 curriculum (5 units of instruction for 5 classrooms). CESA will notify you if your curriculum is free or needs to be purchased. To order curriculum or find out more about THE GREAT BODY SHOP: http://thegreatbodyshop.net/
