SCOPE: Universal level training is designed for schools to learn and begin developing systems, practices, databases for school wide change.
SEQUENCE:
- U100: Developing your Tier 1/Universal System, Part 1
Nov. 12, 2012 - Participants will learn the systems, data and practices imbedded in PBIS implementation. The team will draft School-wide Behavioral Expectations, create a Behavioral Matrix, and plan for team development.
- U200: Developing your Tier 1/Universal System, Part 2
Jan. 17, 2013 - Participants will be developing an acknowledgement plan, developing a chart of office-managed versus classroom-managed behaviors, establishing procedures for a continuum of interventions, evaluating the efficiency of “working smarter” among school teams, and creating a system for effective meetings.
- UTA300: Implementing PBIS in your School: Tier 1/Universal System, Part 3
May 2, 2013 - Participants will revisit essential school-wide systems (data, teaching, acknowledgement, and interventions) and use the Team Implementation Checklist to self-assess current implementation and action plans around identified needs. In addition, participants will look at the Benchmarks of Quality to begin to understand the use of the tool in self-evaluation.
Who should participate in each training: Building level Universal team that includes the following: Building administrator, external and internal coaches, regular education teachers that represent grade levels, special education teacher, social worker and/or psychologist, specials teacher, paraprofessional, and family members.
Workshop presenter: Peg Mazeika, CESAs 2, 3, & 5 Regional Technical Assistance Coordinator. The advantage of participating in the CESA 5 sponsored trainings is sharing of expenses and thereby reduced costs.
Registration fees:
- $2200 for a school-based team of 6-8 individuals. This fee includes Days 1, 2, and 3, Coaches Training and SWIS Training; plus
- flash drives will be provided for each participant
Note: Additional team members may attend for $100 per person for all trainings, meals and facilities.
